Lifting the lid on Australia’s e-waste crisis
The Project
As technology becomes essential in everyday life, e-waste is quickly becoming the largest waste stream in the world. And Sircel wants to empower corporations and consumers to do more to tackle the e-waste crisis.
THE CHALLENGE
Many corporations produce a large volume of e-waste and don’t understand where to send it for processing or that it’s a problem in the first place. Green technology company, Sircel, tasked us with shining a spotlight on the e-waste crisis to corporate Australia, to encourage them to consider their e-waste recycling options.
THE SOLUTION
To highlight the gap in e-waste knowledge and action, Keep Left developed Plugging Australia’s E-waste Gap – a report that shows just how far we have to go when it comes to e-waste education and recycling. Our team conducted the research, wrote and designed the report and developed a PR strategy to launch it on International E-waste Day.
The Results
We secured over 50 pieces of coverage that achieved an overall reach of 1.5 million and an Impact Score of 88 out of 100. This breadth of coverage helped Sircel forge a new national partnership. A key highlight of the campaign was that our exclusive with The Australian was syndicated across Qantas lounges nationwide, ensuring it was front and centre with corporate decision makers.
