Let's get real about scams

The Project

Cybercrime can impact anyone at any time – and it’s not all annoying prank calls. Australians are losing real money each year to scams and fraud. ANZ wanted to help Aussies become more scam aware.

THE CHALLENGE

Losing money to a scam can be devastating – and not everyone knows how to spot the red flags. That’s why ANZ stepped up as financial wellbeing leaders to teach young people how to navigate the wild world of scams.

THE SOLUTION

The ‘Let’s Get Real About Scams’ series tells the stories of young Aussies and the types of scams impacting them the most. Keep Left produced twelve videos that delved into some of the most common cybercrimes, from rental scams to concert ticket hacks, in two trending styles:

  • Storytime captured true scam stories and experiences to help raise awareness, TikTok deep-dive style.
  • Me vs You pitted two people against each other in a short and sweet quiz battle on scam-related topics.

 

 

 

The Results

The content performed strongly as it resonated with our audience. We achieved a reach of around 10.7 million users across Meta, TikTok and YouTube, and had strong video completion rates across the board.

This demonstrated that all people – the young and young at heart – connected with ANZ’s authentic, no-nonsense scam prevention advice and information.
